SiriusXM

So back in October when I got a new (to me) vehicle, it came equipped with a Sirius Satellite Radio. I was given a trial subscription, and all was good. Here are some of my favorite channels.

  • 52 “Electric Area” – Bigroom House & DJ Mixes
  • 51 “BPM” – Dance Hits
  • 122 “NPR Now” – NPR News & Conversation
  • 125 “SiriusXM Patriot” – Conservative Talk
  • 126 “SiriusXM Urban View” – African-American Talk

As you can tell, I like EDM and talk radio the most. Some other channels are cool also. On long road trips, I just flip through all the music, lingering on a channel for a few songs and then moving to the next musical genre so I can stay awake.

My trial subscription is done and I found a deal where you pay six dollars a month for six months. That’s cool, but after that it goes up to something like 18 dollars a month – that’s not cool. For that kind of money I could buy about ten songs a month, and make my own radio station on the iPod touch. Oh well, I’ll worry about that in July. For now you will see me rocking out to EDM or nerding out to Talk Radio as I cruise through Texas with a few dollars less to spend on Slurpees and stuff.

Car Stress

So, last night on my way home, my car started making a rather loud knocking noise. I didn’t think I would make it home from Georgetown safely, but I did. This morning, the car started, woke up all the neighbors, and made it to the shop in one piece. They took a look and told me it would require a new engine as the old one had died of natural causes.

I didn’t want to shell out that much money for a very well used 2001 vehicle, so I did some internet research, and found the car of my (affordable) dreams. Of course, it wasn’t in my city, so I find myself back in San Antonio.

The good news is that I will have a new car if all goes as planned tomorrow. The bad news is that I gave them a nice chunk of my savings account and will be making car payments for a while. Overall, I am very happy to be getting a new (for me) vehicle. Wish me luck!
