The warm, sunny skies at Fort Leaton were wonderful. It was a little chilly in the desert of Presidio, but the sunshine and wispy clouds made it most pleasant.

The post got us curious and we looked it up. Seems it was a residence and not a fort, though someone was suppose to had bought it as one…magnificent indeed!

Yes, I believe you are correct. When I visited the site, I thought of it more as a small trading post then as a “fort”. I’m not sure why they named it “Fort Leaton”? 🙂
