As you tour the Bayou Bend Gardens, you get a 360 view of the house of Ima Hogg and her brothers. If you are like me, you will soon fall in love with her back patio and its sweeping views of the gardens. In 1957, she deeded her estate and its collection to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.

The Carla Garden was one of my favorites today at the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. There was something new everywhere you looked, and I could just imagine spending an afternoon there with tea and a good book to read.

Long Drive

I just drove a little over 435 miles! There were a few stops along the way, including the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens in the River Oaks area of Houston.

I am trying to work off the Post-Vacation Blues . I did a little research, and according to USA Today , I am on the right track. I put stars by the items I am working to accomplish.

1.) Unpack. ***Done
2.) Do laundry. ***Work in process
3.) Go grocery shopping.
4.) Detox from vacation food.
5.) Get some exercise. ***Probably not today
6.) Balance your budget.
7.) Organize your photos. ***Never-ending work in process
8.) Beat the jet lag.
9.) Nurse your reverse culture shock. ***Done – BBQ at Rudy’s for lunch
10.) Plan the next one. ***Never-ending work in process

So, at least I am making progress. I am thankful for the awesome hiking expedition and the fun in San Antonio over the weekend. I am lucky to live in a place with so many opportunities for day trips and weekend trips nearby. Now, what should I do next? 🙂

Las Vegas Airport

I find myself back at the Las Vegas Airport again. It is time for this awesome vacation to come to an end. I had fun in Montana and Nevada, and plan to visit both states again sometime. For now, it is back to Austin.

Another Las Vegas Casino that I could spend the day is the Wynn . It is always nice to hit the buffet and then hang out and try not to spend too much money.

Control Tower

Forgive me. I am trying to maintain sanity and stay awake during my layover in the Las Vegas airport. So far I have walked a lot, avoided the slot machines, eaten Pei Wei Kung Pao Chicken, and taken some random photos. This is my current view of the Control Tower. My next plan is to find an airport bar with NFL football.
