Mornings are not a good time. Have you ever taken a terrible photo because you were too lazy to make it an awesome photo? Here is my most recent example of this concept. If only I had fully woken up, thrown on some clothes, and gone outside with my camera (maybe to the top corner of the parking garage), I would have been rewarded with a lovely sunrise photo. Like I said, mornings are not a good time.
French Quarter
Here are some sights from my quick walk around the French Quarter in downtown New Orleans this evening.
Jackson Square
My favorite time to visit Jackson Square is right at sunset. Most likely the square will be filled with people, music, art, and joy.
Audubon Aquarium of the Americas – Aquarium
Audubon Aquarium of the Americas – Parakeet Pointe
The parakeets at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas are curious and friendly. They were all interested in my jacket pocket and they wanted to climb up to my shoulder to have a look around. What fun they were!
Hard Rock – Biloxi II
“Love All – Serve All”. I have admired this concept since I first walked into a Hard Rock and saw it written on the wall. 🙂
Biloxi Sunset
Biloxi Lighthouse
If you get up early enough, you can tour the Biloxi Lighthouse. Since I am a night person, I may never enter the cast iron structure, climb the 57 steps, pull myself up the 8-rung ladder, squeeze myself through the 19-by-23 inch trap door, and enjoy the view from the light room at the top. Oh well, after all… tomorrow is another day!
Biloxi Beach
Katrina Sculptures
After Hurricane Katrina, many of the trees in Biloxi were left severely damaged by the storm surge. The median of highway 90 is now home to several chainsaw sculptures thanks to the volunteer efforts of sculptor Marlin Miller.
