For me, this Alien movie was best when it was at its most basic – humans making poor decisions and aliens using their awesome powers to wreak havoc. These scenes brought me back to the greatness of the original film by Ridley Scott. If you are a fan of the series, then this installment shouldn’t be missed in a theater.
Nothing new here. You know what you are getting when you walk into the theater for this one – nonexistent plot, one liners, cars smashed, physics ignored, shots fired, and actors wasted. But you still bought your ticket for the spectacle and you still ate too much yummy popcorn.
Enjoyable movie. Not great, but enjoyable.
I had mixed feelings about this movie. The city scenes were pretty cool. Scarlett Johansson as Major and Pilou Asbaek as Batou were both great actors. Some of the various robot scenes were good sci-fi. However, the characters were too bland and weren’t given any heart and soul to work with in my opinion.
Tricky beast from Mars messes with scientists. Scary.
This movie is exactly what you expect it to be. Nothing more and nothing less. Oh, and Emma Watson makes a great Belle.
For a SXSW event tonight, They screened Ghost in the Shell with the backdrop of downtown Austin. It was a nice evening to sit out at the Long Center Terrace and watch the film.
This movie is fun. It is like a cross between Apocalypse Now and Jurassic Park. Lots of action to keep you from eating all the popcorn.
Since it was raining, I went to see Logan at the IMAX. Wolverine meets Mini Wolverine. Mini Wolverine rages. I fidgeted and yawned a lot, because… boring.
This was one of my favorite films of the year. It starts with a hundred butterflies. It will take you out of India, then out of Australia. In the process, it will crush you like a bug.
