I was in search of more wild parakeets today, but ran out of daylight before I could discover what I was looking for. Lucky for me, the Electric Garden was nearby. It has been a while since I walked the gravel path beneath these photogenic sculptures of steel. As the sun continued setting, I enjoyed the lighting conditions and used the opportunity to take some photos.

Texas State Cemetery – 9/11 Monument
There is a Monument “honoring the Texans who were killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and in the military action in Afghanistan that followed” located near the center of the Texas State Cemetery. It includes two steel columns that were salvaged from the World Trade Center. They are each over eight feet tall and are said to weigh about 1,400 pounds. This exhibit is very moving.
