Curtain Theater

On Richard Garriott’s lakeside property in Austin, there is a replica of the Globe Theater called the Curtain Theater.  A performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was scheduled for tonight, but then the rains came.  The show was cancelled at the last minute, and then the rains went away.  Oh well, what can you do?

Vulture Babies are Grown

IMG_4882

It has been about 2 1/2 months since the two tiny little vulture babies were hatched in a secluded corner of the buildings at work.  If you want to learn more about the Black Vulture, Wikipedia has some helpful information, as does NeoTropical Birds.  The babies have grown in size and are no longer shy creatures that sit under a tree or in the corner.  They will now gladly greet you as you are entering or leaving the building.  I suspect that they will be gone within a few days, but here are some last photos before they leave us.

Great Lawn Overhead Structure

IMG_4814

I was back at the Domain again today to get a salad for a late lunch at Whole Foods, try out a new coffee shop at Bee Cave Coffee, enjoy some live music on “The Great Lawn”, and then join a friend to watch some of the UFC fights.  The canopy structure covering the Lawn is super interesting to me.  I walked around like a geek and took several photos as the sun set over the area.  Now you know what to expect, should you ever visit for shopping, food and beverage, or some music.

Bee Cave Sculpture Park

IMG_4771

I visited the Hill Country Galleria Mall this evening in between rain showers, and it turned out that the concert in the Amphitheater was cancelled due to the weather.  So instead of a rock concert, I caught the scene at the Bee Cave Sculpture Park .  It was a wet evening, which made for some interesting photos and then a nice sunset.
