The Float Pool & Patio Bar is a pretty laid back joint located right on the Seawall in Galveston. It was such a hot and humid night, that I wanted to jump into the pool. I would have been the only one. 🙂

Barton Springs Flooded Spillway
Barton Springs – just another indication that Austin has had too much rain this season. The spillway is maxed out.

I got a swim in today.
Underwater
Today was a swim day. I took my camera along since I had the pool to myself for most of the time. I liked how the filtered sun beams threw shadows along the bottom of the pool. I tried to hold my breath for as long as possible and float in the silence of the underwater world.
East Jordan Iron Works
The days in Round Rock have gotten so hot that even the neighborhood kids are staying inside instead of swimming. At around 4:00 pm today, I headed for the pool. I looked both ways, crossed the street, and trekked across this awesome manhole cover from East Jordan Iron Works – “the world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of manhole covers,” among other things. Pretty impressive, huh?
Turtle Creek Pool III
Warning! Super geek with a camera does a lap around and through the community pool this morning when left alone before lap swimming time. Enjoy!
Barton Springs Flooding
This is the shallow end at Barton Springs. If you have been to the pool before, you will understand how crazy this is. And yes, the pool is expected to be closed for some time.

Isn’t it nice when all the neighborhood kids go home for dinner and you have the pool all to yourself? Just you and the sunset, the cool water, the clouds, the birds, and the quiet.
Turtle Creek Pool II
It is back in the pool for me. It has been forever since I swam laps, so today’s 20 minute session was taken slow and easy. Hello self – you should be doing this several times a week, if not every day. I don’t listen to self reasoning very well, but now that my first swim session of the year is done, it should be easy to return to the pool and do it again. The cloudy weather made for a perfect, cool day. 🙂
