Explore UT – The Stadium
No campus trip is complete without sticking your nose into the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium to see what’s going on.
Explore UT – The Cranes
When they build stuff in Austin, they don’t mess around. I was lucky enough to watch some of the Lacrosse match under the cranes this morning on my first trek across campus.
Explore UT – The Map
Today was the open house at The University of Texas called “Explore UT“. It is billed as “The Biggest Open House in Texas! — an extraordinary event featuring close to 400 programs held across the Forty Acres.” And they aren’t kidding. I found some things on campus today that I didn’t know existed and wore myself out by rushing from one awesome event to another. Get ready for a ton of photos to be posted!

Zilker Kite Festival
The Zilker Kite Festival was weather challenged today. It was still fun to catch the kites, bubbles, people, dogs, and food trailers at Zilker Park. Let’s hope next year is sunny and a bit warmer.

Austin City Hall – The People’s Gallery
Today’s mission was to go and enjoy The People’s Gallery at Austin City Hall. From the literature, “Each year the Cultural Arts Division of the Economic Development Department presents the People’s Gallery exhibition, designed to showcase regional artistic endeavors and to encourage public dialogue, understanding, and enjoyment of the visual arts. Since 2005, Austin City Hall has been an annual showcase for works by Austin area artists.” It was super enjoyable to see all of the great artwork on display.
Elephant Room
The Elephant Room – “Cool Jazz in the Basement since 1991”, and tonight was no exception. A fun time was had by all.
