I had the opportunity to join a Social Media Conference at the new Sheraton Hotel in Georgetown today. There were guest speakers like Erik Qualman, Natalie Zfat, Brian Fanzo, and Chet Garner, among others. Google them if you are interested and you will find a world of tips and advice for being your authentic self in social media. There was tons of food as indicated by the tower of Round Rock donuts. All in all, it was a great event!

Explore UT
The Explore UT event was rain or shine. Today we received a steady dose of rain. I saw soccer playing robots, a projection dance piece, a few other events, and rain. Yes, mostly rain.
Robots at International CES
Innovation Awards at International CES
International CES is celebrating 50 years as a trade show. They handed out the 2017 Innovation Awards and there were so many interesting items to enjoy. They also sprinkled in some older technology (and Miffy) to help us remember how far we have come.
Hover Camera at International CES
The Hover Camera was by far my favorite new gizmo at International CES. It is a super light weight drone that can be programmed to recognize your face. No FAA registration required. Go on an adventure and program it to follow you, or even to orbit you. When you are done, fold it up and store it in its case until next time. Almost perfect with the exception of a 10 minute flight time and a cost of $600 for now. Some one please get me one and I will be your best friend. 🙂

BMW at International CES
The BMW tent at International CES was pretty cool. They had cars you could take for a test drive, and a concept car inside the tent.
Frank Erwin Center
I got to attend an event at the Frank Erwin Center today. This venue is located on the University of Texas campus, and plays host to large gatherings, basketball games, and concerts.
Dell Diamond
Goofing off at Dell Diamond today in the Summer heat. This baseball park is so cool that it has its own swimming pool in the outfield.
Volunteering
I had a wonderful opportunity to volunteer at the Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry in Taylor, Texas this morning. They were super friendly and helpful people if you find yourself in the area with some free time to donate to a good cause.
