I had the opportunity to join a Social Media Conference at the new Sheraton Hotel in Georgetown today. There were guest speakers like Erik Qualman, Natalie Zfat, Brian Fanzo, and Chet Garner, among others. Google them if you are interested and you will find a world of tips and advice for being your authentic self in social media. There was tons of food as indicated by the tower of Round Rock donuts. All in all, it was a great event!

Grace Heritage Center
This evening’s fun was found in the parking lot of the Grace Heritage Center. Chet Garner, or better known as the Daytripper from the PBS show, set up a viewing party for his Big Bend National Park episode. It was fun, and for photo opportunities there was the former Grace Episcopal Church along with the sky and clouds at sunset. A pretty nice Thursday evening!
Red Poppy Festival
Today’s fun was had at the Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown. The best performances were Kimberly Dunn and Tracy Lawrence. Chet Garner from The Daytripper also made an appearance to pass out awards for the cooking contest. The Georgetown square was popping at the seams with all the people out to enjoy the evening.
Daytripper
As the sun set on downtown Round Rock, it was time to meet up at the Main Street Plaza for the Daytripper Round Rock Premier Party. Chet Garner, AKA “The Daytripper“, was meeting and greeting his fans, running around organizing last minute things, raffling off free goodies, making sure everyone was fed, taking photos with people, and smiling and having fun the whole time. When it was almost dark, he thanked the guitar player and introduced his show about Round Rock. We all watched the half hour episode with interest for our home town places and its history.
