The Copperfield Nature Trail is about 3.5 miles of trail that runs along Walnut Creek on the East side of I35 in Austin. I started from Copperfield Park, and followed the trail as it bends along the Creek side. This trail is embedded in a few neighborhoods, so expect some street noise as you hike. This makes for a nice walk after work and before the sun sets.

Walnut Creek Hike and Bike Trail II
Ever since my first visit to a piece of the Walnut Creek Hike and Bike Trail, I had wanted to discover and explore the beginning portion of the trail in East Austin. It kicks off at Govalle Park, just off of Airport Blvd. This section of the trail is similar in that it is a paved two lane path with a center dividing line. It is popular with the bikers in Austin, and runs along the creek with a view of a set of railroad tracks and airplanes overhead flying into the Austin airport. It was a cool, dark, overcast day and my walk was very enjoyable.
Walnut Creek Hike and Bike Trail
At sunset, it was time to work off my overconsumption of meat pies, and go for a long walk along the Walnut Creek Hike and Bike Trail. The section I walked had sights like a golf course, Walnut Creek, flooded trail sections, bridge underpasses, graffiti, winter trees, bamboo, dried brush, and plenty of bikers, hikers and dogs. It was a pleasant walk, and I will have to explore this trail further when I have the opportunity.
