I was excited to find out that Michael Fracasso was playing in the Music Tent for the Texas Book Festival. He is one of my favorite local singer-songwriters. He and his band were awesome!

Texas Book Festival – Capitol
Today’s event was the Texas Book Festival at the State Capitol. I attended a few of the book panels, but didn’t fall in love with any of the authors I saw. The sun was mostly hidden behind clouds, so in between events, I walked the grounds and took a few photos of the gray conditions.
Witte Museum Butterflies
South Texas Heritage Center
One part of the Witte Museum is the South Texas Heritage Center. This consists of a two floor exhibit with Texas memorabilia everywhere.
Witte Museum Art
Parts of the Witte Museum are currently under construction, but they still have plenty of art to admire. My favorites depicted the Mission life in South Texas.
National Geographic Earth Explorers
For my last event while in San Antonio, I chose to visit the National Geographic Earth Explorers exhibit at the Witte Museum. The website explains that you will “Follow six, National Geographic scientists on their adventures through Earth’s diverse eco-zones and discover what it takes to survive and study in some of the planet’s most extreme conditions.” The highlights are the videos sprinkled throughout the exhibit, but these photos will give you an idea of what to expect.
