The Texas Book Festival is the best time of the year to seek out migrating Monarchs. They typically look for a food source at the fountain on the State Capitol grounds. They are so much fun to photograph, because they don’t stay on one flower blossom for long, but flitter about on their own personal schedule.
I was excited to find out that Michael Fracasso was playing in the Music Tent for the Texas Book Festival. He is one of my favorite local singer-songwriters. He and his band were awesome!
Today’s event was the Texas Book Festival at the State Capitol. I attended a few of the book panels, but didn’t fall in love with any of the authors I saw. The sun was mostly hidden behind clouds, so in between events, I walked the grounds and took a few photos of the gray conditions.
Thank you Jodi for the cool butterfly poem! I think Typewriter Rodeo is the best!
The Texas Book Festival is so inspirational that you just have to go back for Sunday’s events.
Here are some scenes from a most beautiful day at the Texas Book Festival. It is so cool to sit in on the discussion panels and then to roam the grounds of the Texas State Capitol.
Here are some photos from inside the Capitol today. To give you an idea of my tastes at the Texas Book Festival , below is a list of the panels I attended throughout the day.

Drinks and a Movie
There were tons of other discussions, music, food, books for sale, and anything else that belongs at a book festival. You should definitely check it out if you ever get the chance.
This weekend is the Texas Book Festival at the Capitol. The book festival itself doesn’t make for exciting photo opportunities, but the Capitol grounds are always beautiful.
