I have had two major financial problems in the last few weeks. Today, I woke up to find out that someone visited a South Austin Bank of America ATM and in two withdrawals, cleared out my checking account. Not sure how they accomplished that, because my ATM card has been in my wallet the whole time. Lucky for me, I keep most of my account in savings. Last week, I discovered one of my credit cards had multiple Best Buy purchases for the same amount – $378.86. I am working with Citibank to get the fraudulent charges removed. Do you ever worry that you have too much information floating about on the Internet? I’m officially worried now. LifeLock has a free 30 day trial to prevent identity theft, and I am going to experiment with their service to see how they can help. In the meantime, I can enjoy the $0.26 left in my account – I’ll try not to spend it all at once.

Frisbee Golf
I was hanging out at Old Settlers Park with co-workers and friends this afternoon. According to their site, there is an 18-hole professionally designed disc golf course that is open for play seven days a week. These shots are taken at one of the holes as the sun was about to finish up for the day.

Twitter Unsquishes Photos
So Twitter is taking a small step in the right direction. Has it ever annoyed you that your Twitter feed only showed part of a photo and you had to tap on the photo to view the full image? So, Twitter announced that they are refining the media experience. When I tested my tree photo today, it appears normally on the Twitter desktop site, but it appears cropped in the Twitter App for iOS. Here’s hoping they can also make the App more visually appealing so I will become more likely to tweet photos directly instead of instagramming them.

Skatepark Fundraiser
My real reason for visiting Taylor, Texas today was the Skatepark Fundraiser put on by Project Loop. Over 150 artists contributed art on skateboards to help raise money for the kids of Taylor to build a skatepark. What an innovative way to put some funds together! The favorite skateboard art amongst the younger set was the “Operation” skateboard that lit up the patient’s red nose when the operation hit the guard rails. I had to fight the kids to get a photo of that board. My personal favorite was the moon man jumping asteroid craters. “SK8 or DONT” π
Taylor Train Station
The Taylor Train Station is a good place to catch a sunset and to wait for your train to arrive. The train tracks run parallel to Highway 79, and on your way to Taylor, you may get the opportunity to race a train locomotive that is pulling several rail cars behind it.
