When a tooth strikes out with pain and swelling, you end up spending the day at home resting and watching Netflix. This movie, “Beasts of No Nation”, hits hard. A very graphic war movie filmed in Ghana in West Africa. It won’t appeal to everyone, but I appreciated its honest portrayal of African war zones and the food for thought that it provided.

Hey y’all! Get your hands on this Film (or maybe read the book). Unbranded is a story about wild mustangs, four college friends, and a trip of a lifetime riding public lands from Mexico to Canada. Trust me, this is a great American documentary.
Sicario
This movie would make an excellent US-based companion to Cartel Land. Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio Del Toro all did a great job!

Antarctica: On the Edge
I drove out to Johnson City to see a short film about Antarctica at the Hill Country Science Mill.
The Martian
At times, the laws of physics and common sense are totally ignored. This is not good for a NASA flick. If you can let science go, then the movie has its moments.
Black Mass
Meru
This movie is about the mountain climbing expedition for the Shark’s Fin route up the Meru Peak in the Himalayas. If you see the film, you will see a documentary about superhuman men. If you are like me, you will be shouting on the inside for these men to stop what they are doing – just stop. It is a crazy film that explores the boundaries of what risks are logical versus illogical.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
What better way to spend some time after walking around in the Texas Summer sun than to chill out for a bit at the Alamo IMAX? Guy Ritchie is brilliant. Every scene is a fantastically shot music video.
