Today’s adventure took me to the Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin. It is a relatively small place, so I was able to explore it after work. These are some of the flowers (and Goldfish) that you can discover there.

Quilt
I am back at the Georgetown Public Library again, and I wanted to share one of the quilts on display. It is called “Red Poppies of Georgetown” and was made by the San Gabriel Quilters to help celebrate the Georgetown Sesquicentennial in 1998. I hope you like it.
Butterflies
We have a small garden at work, and apparently the migrating butterflies like one of the plants. However, they appear to be mostly camera shy. I had to sneak up on them for a few photos with the iPod Touch.
Apple Store
So, my new (to me) car has the ability to connect directly to my iPod Touch (no, I don’t have an iPhone). I needed an extra cable with the lightning connector so I can rock out to my tunes and podcasts. I’m not so much into rocking out since I am old and all, but I can try. Mostly I am listening to Talk Radio or National Public Radio and trying to learn about the world. But for the limited rocking out that can be accomplished, the cable is a requirement. Thus a visit to the Apple Store in the Domain. People are always looking at me weird when I am taking random photos – their problem, not mine. 🙂
Power Lines
This is what you find at the far end of the trails at Berry Springs Park and Preserve in Georgetown. Pretty cool, huh?
Austin
I went for a walk around downtown Austin this evening and took some photos as usual. The weather has dropped into the mid 70’s and it is a nice change from the heat we have been experiencing into October. Austin has such a walkable downtown.
Mission San José
My favorite mission in San Antonio is Mission San José . As you may be able to tell from the photos, it is a beautiful place.

Mariachi Bar
I have seen lots of Mariachi bands in my life, but never before one with a harp player. These gentlemen crushed it at the Mariachi Bar in the Mi Tierra restaurant. 🙂
