I tried a new restaurant in Round Rock today – Papi’s Pies. I had the Quiche Florentine, a salad, a coke, and the Tres Leches cake for dessert. Everything was great. One of my main reasons for visiting was the Local Artist Series: Galápagos Islands with Henry Huey. I really enjoyed the photos, and I’ll be back again for more food and art.

Fareground
So there is a new food hall in town, and it is called Fareground. This place is a wonderful concept, except they shouldn’t have invited so many people on a busy weekend night. There are six local food vendors to choose from, drinks and food and snacks to pick out from each joint, along with an open seating area so you can make new friends while hanging out. I chose Ni-Kome so I could try the miso ramen on a chilly and wet Austin night. It was perfect. If you find yourself in downtown Austin and near Second Street and Congress Avenue, then be sure to try this food hall for a nice dinner outing.
Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort
Just about 30 minutes from downtown Flagstaff Arizona, off of I40, is the Twin Arrows Casino. It makes for a nice, welcoming place on a cold and blustery Winter night. They have an incredible chandelier in the lobby, several restaurants including a small buffet, Native American artwork, and a pretty nice casino floor where you can donate some of your hard earned cash dollars.
I may have lost count
Kreuz Market
It has been a while since I have taken a road trip. On my way to San Marcos this hot Texas afternoon, I detoured to the city of Lockhart to get some delicious barbecue at Kreuz Market. It wasn’t too busy for a Friday, so I pretty much zipped through the line and ordered some brisket, bread, beans, cheese, and iced tea. I was so hungry for some tasty brisket that I neglected to take a photo until there was just one slice left. Anyways, you get an idea of how good things are here and hopefully one day you will have the opportunity to visit.

Dinner at Torchy’s Tacos on South Congress. I thought about ordering the Taco of the Month, but stuck with my favorite – the Migas Taco. Yummy. Oh, and there is a nice view of downtown Austin from this part of Congress Avenue. 🙂
Sprinkles
There is a new cupcake joint in town and they have a 24/7 cupcake ATM. Sprinkles serves up some super moist and yummy cupcakes. I received my dark chocolate cupcake from the ATM, but had to go inside for my water. Maybe one day the ATM could serve up drinks also? Or maybe next time I will bring my own beverage? Either way, if you have a Sprinkles in your area, check it out. 🙂
Vegas Buffet
After a day of exploring and hiking in Waco, and since I was still missing Las Vegas, I found the Vegas Buffet for some Chinese Food.
Code 7 Burger
Hopdoddy is celebrating a year of serving great food and drinks in Round Rock. For a very limited time, they are offering the Code 7. It consists of “angus beef, Tillamook cheddar, applewood smoked bacon and fried egg between two Round Rock Donuts.” Trust me, this is a yummy burger from the great minds at Hopdoddy Burger Bar.
