Just a short ride out to Lee Canyon from the Vegas Strip, and you will discover some beautiful hikes. The Lower Bristlecone Trail is an easy one, with a wide gravel path to enjoy. Along the way, I found pine trees, mountain views, fresh air, woodpeckers, pine cones, and deer. I highly recommend a drive out to Lee Canyon if you find yourself in the area.

Booty’s Road Park
Today’s hike started off at Booty’s Road Park. This is probably my favorite section of the trails along the San Gabriel River with short cliffs on one side and the River on the other side. There are birds and deer along the way also. The trail is gravel in some places and paved in others with resting spots sprinkled throughout. You can hike for a short while and return to the park, or you can take out on a longer route if you want more exercise. Overall, a nice hiking experience in Georgetown.
Lakeway, Texas
After hiking in the area, I took a drive to see what was cooking in Lakeway. They had deer out to eat the neighborhood flowers, beautiful mushroom houses overlooking Lake Travis, sailboats enjoying the calm evening, and sunsets that looked like they were brushed with colorful paints across the skies.

Zion National Park – Deer
I was hiking the Grotto Trail, starting from the Zion Lodge, and walked upon several deer on the trail. The employees of the Lodge say that they like to hang out nearby. The deer mostly ignored me and went ahead with their lunch of green grass.
