Mother Falcon is a great group of talented artists. They were my favorite band today at the Mad Tiger Festival.

Mad Tiger Festival – Peelander-Z
Peelander-Z is a band from New York City that should just face the facts that they need to go ahead and relocate to Austin. They promise a performance with “intense audience participation and a chance to exercise”. Who could turn that down?
One-Eyed Doll
Here are a series of photos to give you an idea of what to expect when going to see One-Eyed Doll perform.
- Junior Sewell will set up the stage before the show, and get things organized.
- Kimberly Freeman will make a grand entrance, looking awesome as usual.
- Kimberly will engage the crowd with sweet words and offer a few laughs.
- Kimberly will then surprise you by totally rocking out with Junior destroying the drums.
- Costumes, funny hats, rockstar poses, screaming guitar, diving into the crowd, excellent music, and lots of fun!
- Kimberly decides that the show is over and dive bombs into Junior’s drum kit.
- Kimberly transforms back into the sweetest person you will ever meet and signs autographs for her fans.
They are going on tour in support of their new album, so please go to see them when they get to a town near you. You are guaranteed to have a great time!
SXSW – Texas RockFest
Tonight’s SXSW agenda was to see all the rock bands at the Texas RockFest. My ears are still ringing. 🙂
SXSW – Mexican American Cultural Center
The rain got the best of me tonight at the Mexican American Cultural Center. The bands were total troopers for enduring the weather. It was still fun, and tomorrow is another day.
SXSW – Make Some Noise
I walked through Rainey Street (appropriately named for tonight’s weather) and went to the Neiman Marcus Make Some Noise party at 78 Rainey Street. It ended quickly after I arrived, but I did get to see the end of the set for Marina and the Diamonds. It was a good start to a very wet evening.
SXSW – Auditorium Shores
This evening’s SXSW experience was found at Auditorium Shores. I really like the new layout for this park as a concert venue. It was a first class experience. Good job Austin!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day
I went to a relatively small and calm celebration for Saint Patrick’s Day at the Shoal Crossing Event Center this evening. There was music and drinks on the inside, and music, dancing, drinks, and food on the outside. If you ever have the chance to see the Inishfree Austin Irish Dancers or the Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums, then please take advantage of it. They both put on great performances tonight!
SXSW – Try Swedish
Tonight’s SXSW entertainment was supplied by Try Swedish and Threadgill’s down on Riverside. There was plenty of food, drinks, live music, and friendly people from Sweden. My favorite band from Sweden tonight was The Magnettes. They wore all white and rocked the place with their infectious energy and attitude.
