It is so cool to have the SXSW Festival in downtown Austin every year. You never know what you are going to see or discover.

Chaddick Dance Theater
Austin City Hall was the stage tonight for an outdoor performance of Chaddick Dance Theater. It was interesting to watch the dancers perform while people were out and about in the city, and traffic was flowing behind us on Cesar Chavez Street. The performance is called “Meetings of the Mind” and there will be a few more chances later in March to check out the show if you find yourself in Austin.
Sahara Lounge
My first ever visit to the Sahara Lounge on the East side of Austin. As a bonus, there was Marimba music. It was pretty awesome.

Explore UT
The Explore UT event was rain or shine. Today we received a steady dose of rain. I saw soccer playing robots, a projection dance piece, a few other events, and rain. Yes, mostly rain.
Skyspace
As per the website, “The Skyspace is a naked-eye observatory in the heart of the main campus, where visitors view the sky through an opening in the ceiling called an oculus.” It can be found on the third floor rooftop garden of the Student Activity Center on the University of Texas campus. On rainy days, you get nice images of gray, black, and white.
February Wildflowers
This is an awesome time in Central Texas. The wildflowers are beginning to pop up. This groovy patch can be found at Park Hills Baptist Church, and there is also a nice view of downtown Austin from this site. Have fun if you go, and beware of the traffic on the nearby road. 🙂
