I am still enjoying Periscope. Lately they have improved the Map View to include options to see live video or recorded video. For recorded video, there is a new option to Skip Ahead. Just press and hold on your touchscreen, and you can fast forward to the spot you want to see in the recorded video. It is chilly in Austin, and I am missing the beach, so I virtually travelled to Australia tonight to catch a sunrise. I hope you enjoy the possibilities for travel on Periscope too.

Kaiju Attack!!!
The Univesity Hills Branch of the Austin Public Library had a Kaiju event this afternoon. They showed a Godzilla movie on the wall, had a cool dude in costume for photos, arts and crafts for the kids, snacks, action figures, and books for everyone to enjoy. Yes, it was totally a nerd fest…
Voodoo Doughnut II
I may have practiced some of my Voodoo skillz tonight…
Or, I might have just consumed a Voodoo Doll Doughnut at Voodoo Doughnut on Sixth Street. 🙂
Creek Show
Creek Show is a temporary art installation in Downtown Austin. It is going on through tomorrow night, so check it out if you find yourself in the area.
100 Pizzitas
Here is an interesting concept for a restaurant. Pizzas treated as tapas. 100 Pizzitas also has several full blown pizzas to choose from if you prefer not to sample some of the 100 different 6.5″ sized ones. My favorite tonight was number 59 – Provolone cheese, bacon, York ham, mushroom & cream. There is also a view of the Texas State Capitol building from the patio to enjoy.

Poco and Amigo
It has been a while since I met with these two curious and friendly donkeys. We hung out for a bit, they allowed me to take some photos, and then we bid farewell as I began my walk at Berry Springs Park and Preserve. I finished as the sun was setting, and called it a day.
Local Guides
If you are a fan of Google Maps, you can help out the world and get some benefits like upgrading your Google Drive storage. I have used and contributed a bit to Yelp, Gowalla, and Foursquare in the past, but fell out of like with them all. I’m usually out and about with a camera of some sort, so why not contribute a photo or a review every now and then? These screenshots are from tonight’s review of Shake Shack in the Domain – my first burger here. If you want to learn more about Google Local Guides, check out their website. If you become a super Local Guide and get invited to a cool party or get Google Drive upgrades or other free stuff, then you can thank me later. 🙂
