Explore UT – The Tower
The University of Texas Tower is almost always in view as you stroll around the campus. Today’s added bonus was a great steel drum band to send you off to the Caribbean.
Explore UT – Shakespeare
There is a course at UT called Shakespeare at Winedale. The idea is to learn about Shakespeare by performing his plays. We received a small taste of this in the sunny courtyard of Calhoun Hall, and it was fun.
Explore UT – Monochrome for Austin
Explore UT – Texas Memorial Museum
Ok. Yes. Things are bigger in Texas. The Texas Memorial Museum has a Great Hall with the “Quetzalcoatalus northropi, the Texas Pterosaur, a flying reptile unearthed in West Texas by The University of Texas at Austin scientists. With a wingspan of 40 feet, Quetzalcoatalus northropi is the largest flying creature ever found.” Did ya’ll know that this was on campus?
Explore UT – Art Building (Visual Arts Center)
The Visual Arts Center did not disappoint. It supplied me with several opportunities for photographs.
Explore UT – The Stadium
No campus trip is complete without sticking your nose into the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium to see what’s going on.
Explore UT – The Cranes
When they build stuff in Austin, they don’t mess around. I was lucky enough to watch some of the Lacrosse match under the cranes this morning on my first trek across campus.
Explore UT – The Map
Today was the open house at The University of Texas called “Explore UT“. It is billed as “The Biggest Open House in Texas! — an extraordinary event featuring close to 400 programs held across the Forty Acres.” And they aren’t kidding. I found some things on campus today that I didn’t know existed and wore myself out by rushing from one awesome event to another. Get ready for a ton of photos to be posted!
