I went a little bit off the beaten path today to get some steamy Vietnamese noodle soup at Pho 18. This is a small family restaurant located on 4th Street, just off of Seawall Blvd.

Shrimp ‘n Stuff
This Galveston restaurant is one of my favorites for fried seafood. At Shrimp ‘n Stuff you can sit out on the patio or inside for some much needed air conditioning. My lunch today was the “Create Your Own Platter” with fried shrimp, catfish, hush puppies, fries, and sweet tea. It was most awesome.
Yard House
My crew from work ended up at Yard House this afternoon for Happy Hour. This is a nice new addition to the Domain within a short walk from Whole Foods. They have yards, half yards, 130 different taps, drinks other than beer, and good food. My beer of choice was the Clown Shoes Clementine Belgian style White Ale. We enjoyed our time here today, and I recommend you check it out if you are a beer lover.
The Saucy Rooster
There is a new restaurant in town, and as you can see, they have some nice macaroni and cheese, fried okra, and chicken with gravy. It is a tiny joint located just off the freeway and named The Saucy Rooster Chicken Company. If you find yourself in Round Rock, check out the menu and see if there is something you might like to try.
The Yogurt Experience
El Chilito
This tiny, new establishment on Burnet Road is called El Chilito. My after work food included two Migas tacos and the Hot “O” Special – Mexican hot chocolate with espresso. It turns out that there is no inside dining area, you either enjoy your meal on the picnic tables out in front or you take it to go. I chose the picnic table option, and all was good.
Rosa’s Cafe & Tortilla Factory
Rosa’s Cafe & Tortilla Factory is defined by Google Maps as a “Fast-food chain featuring classic Mexican dishes & housemade tortillas in festive surroundings.” I think I agree with that summary. I was more attracted by the festive surroundings than I was by the tacos I ordered, however I will give this restaurant another chance with the hopes that I visited on an off night.
Texas Chili Parlor
Voodoo Doughnut V
This Voodoo Doll doughnut wasn’t feeling so well. I put him out of his misery and ate him. Voodoo Doughnut is a most awesome place on Sixth Street to drop in for a snack. 🙂
Mellow Mushroom II
It is time for a trip back to Mellow Mushroom. On this cloudy, slightly windy, yet beautiful evening, I ordered the Funky Q. Chicken. It is described on the menu as “BBQ chicken, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, caramelized onions, and Applewood smoked bacon. Finished with a bbq sauce swirl.” These combinations made for a good pizza on the patio.
