The Presidio County Courthouse is one of the first things that catches your eye in Marfa. The sun shines brightly on the Courthouse dome which is perched on top of three floors of County offices. The interior is just as striking with its stairways of pecan. If you are a fan of architecture like me, then you must stroll through and around the building to admire the beauty.
There was time for another celebration today. It was the 100th birthday for the Deep Eddy Swimming pool. There was swimming, birthday cake, and a band to help celebrate. Not much going on here. Just getting a cup of yogurt with gummy bears and stuff – yes, there is yogurt under there somewhere. Then going for a walk around the pond at the Outlet Mall on a dark and cloudy evening.
The Biology Turtle Pond on campus was a nice place to get some photos of the Texas Tower on this cold, drizzly night. The Tower was lit up in Burnt Orange in honor of the Texas Women’s Volleyball Team winning the Big 12 Championship. Yay! I took the opportunity to walk around campus with my camera.
