Lucky Cat
For a short time, the Cosmopolitan has an art installation called “Lucky Cat”. You meet Lucky Cat, you touch his paw for luck, and you receive your fortune. Some fortunes come with a prize – mine was ten dollars in slot play. My fortune was “Make the most of what you’re given”. That is great advice for anyone.
Wicked Spoon
The Wicked Spoon is one of the best buffets in Las Vegas. They do things a little different here. Most of the items on the buffet are cooked in individual servings in small pots or containers. Most yummy!
Zion National Park – North Fork Virgin River
Part of the West Rim Trail runs along the Virgin River. This is the river (The North Fork) that runs through Zion Canyon and creates a lovely background noise of running water over rocks. At a few points, the trail provides river access so you can get next to or in the river for some fun.

Zion National Park – West Rim Trail – Trail Map
Today’s mission – get as far up West Rim Trail as possible. As you can tell from the pictures, this is a challenging trail, full of switchbacks. It is like a super stair climber at the gym. I would have liked to go farther, but my daylight was limited and I needed to save some energy for the drive back to Las Vegas. If you hike this trail, you will be rewarded with some awesome views of the Park.
Frankie Moreno
I was thrilled to find out that Frankie Moreno still had his show in Vegas. If you are nearby, you have until Saturday night to catch him. After that, he is on to bigger and better things. He can sing, dance, play the guitar, play the harmonica, crush the piano, get the crowd involved, pass out free bottles of champagne, and flat out entertain like no other Vegas performer.
The Driskill Christmas Tree
I heard through the grapevine that the Driskill had a beautiful Christmas Tree. I found myself downtown late tonight, so I thought I would sneak by and take a look. I was super impressed.
Austin Trail Of Lights – Lights
The Trail Of Lights is about a mile and a half walk through some pretty awesome light displays. There are lots of food trailers and a stage for local talent to perform. Pack up your family, friends, and neighbors and enjoy the evening.
Austin Trail Of Lights – Ferris Wheel
A new addition to the Trail Of Lights this year is the Ferris Wheel. It provides a nice view of the lights and the city.
