After posting my last blog page from the Lego Kids Fest, there was still a little time left before the event was over for the day. Lucky for me, there was a small mountain of Legos to dive into. The kids had built a giant blue city with about 90 towers, so I contributed by building a long blue wall to front the city and keep out the kids who wanted to play Godzilla for the night. It sort of worked and kept the destructive ones from crushing all the towers. The whole plan failed when the time for the event was up. The adult proctors began ripping the city to pieces in preparation for the next morning so tomorrow’s kids could have a fresh mountain of blocks to build from. I hope they have fun and make a city as majestically constructed as the one tonight. 🙂

Lego Kids Fest
Pretty much everything Lego can be found at the Lego Kids Fest. It will be here in Austin for the weekend, so come check it out if you can. Now, I need to go build a castle or something…
Teapioca Lounge
Trying out a new place for bubble tea in Round Rock on this day full of fluffy clouds. We need Teapioca Lounge in this city, since there are so few bubble tea joints north of Austin. I tried the Frozen Cappuccino with Tapioca and it was tasty. I didn’t do the lounging part today, but I’m sure to return again soon since they stay open until 10:00 pm.
The Butterflies are Back
45 Taps
One of the best parts of the Whole Foods Market in the Domain is the Draft Shack. As you can tell by the photo, they have 45 different beers on tap, among other beverages. They also have an oyster happy hour from 3 to 5 every day if you are into that sort of thing. My beer selection today was a pint of Pablo’s Pale Ale from Adelbert’s Brewery in Austin. Tap #23 on the big board. It was great!
Full Moon
Skylight
There were some thunder clouds rolling through the area this evening, so I thought I would go for a walk around Pflugerville Lake to catch some awesome photos. It turns out that my view from the booth at Souper Salad was better. Funny how these things work out sometimes. 🙂
Full Moon Swim
It is good to know that some parts of Austin haven’t changed as the city continues to grow. Tonight was the Full Moon Swim at Barton Springs Pool. It is difficult to find this party on any official calendar, but it happens at every full moon. The entrance to the pool is free after 9:00 pm, so everyone jumps into the cold water and howls at the moon. Pretty cool party, huh?
Noche de Folklor
Wow, that was a lot of fun! The hillside was probably as packed as I have ever seen it, and everyone was there to see Ballet Folklórico de Texas.
Zilker Botanical Garden
On this sunny Saturday, I took a walk through Zilker Botanical Garden. There were flowers, trees, bamboo, fish, dinosaurs, waterfalls, and other things wanting to be photographed.
