This weekend is the Texas Book Festival at the Capitol. The book festival itself doesn’t make for exciting photo opportunities, but the Capitol grounds are always beautiful.

Sendero Springs Greenbelt
I tried out a new hiking trail this evening, and I struck Texas photography Gold (or at least Silver – I’ll let you decide). Butterflies, roses, windmills, sunsets and more! What a nice evening full of surprises. 🙂
Texan Cafe
For lunch today, we headed over to the Texan Cafe in Hutto. My friends got chicken fried steaks and I got the chicken fried chicken with niblet corn, fried okra, and iced tea. As you can see from the menu board, this place is pretty Texas. But the best part is the pies – yes, the pies! What place do you know of that has a pie happy hour? The Texan Cafe has that. From a fully stocked pie case, I chose the Snickers Pie and it was totally yummy. We paid for our food, waddled out of the place and I was unsuccessful in getting a photo of my friends on top of the Hutto Hippo (the town mascot). Next time… 🙂
Luncheon
I was invited to a luncheon at work today. The food was catered by Chuy’s and they brought fajitas for us. Yay! This little dude was hanging out on the table, and now he is hanging out in my cubicle until somebody decides to give him a better home…

Passiflora
At one public garden in Georgetown, the Passion Flowers are blooming like crazy. I stopped by here before my walk this evening.

Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Corn Hill
The Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Corn Hill was relatively close to my hike today. Having never seen this church, I thought I would try to get over there before the sun set. What great timing to wander around and take some photos.
