This party was fun. It was the Music is Universal Party at the Marriott Hotel with Niykee Heaton and Vince Staples closing it out. Everyone was bouncing and the floor was shaking, which presented a challenge for photographs in focus.

SXSW – Outdoor Stage
The Deftones rocked at the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake tonight.
SXSW – Sunset Walk
If you come to SXSW bring some comfortable walking shoes. You will want to walk around Downtown to take in as many sights as possible.
SXSW – Street Music
There are so many musicians at SXSW that the bands often take to the streets to help defer their travel expenses. You can hear some great music as you walk from one venue to the next.
Pink
A big “thank you” to the person who planted this rose bush in our community garden at work! It was so relaxing to admire the pink roses in action after our morning rains provided them with some water. 🙂
Mellow MushroomÂ
Today’s lunch with friends was at Mellow Mushroom. We ordered three different small pizzas so we could each sample some of the goods. My favorite one was called “Magical Mystery Tour” and it included “Pesto base with button and Portobello mushrooms, feta and mozzarella cheeses, spinach and jalapeños on a pesto basted crust.” It was so delicious that it was gone before it could be photographed for posterity. Don’t worry, I will be returning to this pizza joint again soon.
Labyrinth
Tucked away, off of the main trail at Brushy Creek Lake Park, is a tiny Labyrinth. Lucky for us, the Bluebonnets are sprouting up. According to the sign, “Labyrinths are different in that they have a single path that leads to the center and back out again.” Also, “labyrinths are designed to calm, heal, comfort and bring about balance.” I truly enjoyed the sights, sunshine, and breezes as I walked through and skipped over the rocks placed to form this Labyrinth.
Kingdom IV
The Kingdom is still a great place for EDM. This time around, I went to see Sebastian Furrer, who is half of the duo “Cazzette”. He kept everyone dancing and in good spirits throughout his set.
SXSW – Macnas
Just when you thought SXSW had served up all of its insanity, along comes a performance company from Ireland. Macnas describes themselves as a team that is “bringing stunning large-scale images and brilliant chaos to the streets of the world.” They paraded down Sixth Street for SXSW and pretty much set the place on fire. These photos will give you an idea of their brand of chaos, but please go and see them in person if you ever have the opportunity.
