I ran across this most awesome rose garden today while walking about.

Evening at the Domain
If you go walking at the Domain on a Friday evening, you can experience several things. You can stop and admire the red roses. You can catch a rock band playing on the Great Lawn stage. Drop in at Flaming Pizza and build your own pizza creation. Make friends with a grackle who really just wants to taste a bit of your pizza. And as you walk back, you can catch the sun as it begins to set behind the power lines. Not too bad for a Friday evening.

3rd of July
Happy 3rd of July! I know, usually it is the 4th of July we celebrate for Independence Day, but this year we are celebrating both days thanks to the extra long weekend. There are fireworks shows on both nights in different cities surrounding the Austin area. I slept in this morning and then went to the Monument Cafe in Georgetown for a late lunch. Their food is always nice, but a stroll through their garden is one of my favorite things about this city.
Mueller Airport Control Tower
The Mueller Airport Control Tower is a lovely piece of history in Austin. It is one structure that is still standing from the old Robert Mueller Airport days. Since then, Austin has grown, and the Airport was moved further outside of the central part of Austin. Lucky for us, it makes for some nice photos and a walk through the neighborhood will bring you up close to a few flowers for some smells and photographs.
More Red
I am motoring around the Round Rock Outlet Mall today. As usual, I hit up the Starbucks, this time for an iced green tea and some internets. There is more red in the beautiful blooming rose bushes outside then you would imagine possible. On the inside, they are playing music I’ve never heard before and one groovy lyric stuck with me.
The YouTube video of the song “Eye” by Brandi Carlile is linked below if you want to give it a listen.
