Here is one bonus to letting the grass grow tall in an empty field. Pink Evening Primrose wildflowers! Can you spot the Lady Bug in the third photo? That was a pleasant surprise.

The Color Inside
There is an innovative art exhibit on the third floor roof of the Student Activity Center on the University of Texas campus called The Color Inside. It is described on the website as “a naked-eye observatory in the heart of the main campus, where visitors view the sky through an opening in the ceiling called an oculus.” They discourage photography for some reason, but I found the space to be most photogenic on a sunny afternoon. I’ll need to return with my button hole spy camera during the sunset or sunrise hours to try for some even more awesome photos. Wish me luck!

Indian Blanket
Texas wildflowers never cease to amaze me. These photos show three separate large fields of the Indian Blanket flowers that I ran across on my walk this evening. I’m sure this is the product of all the recent rains in Central Texas.
Maker Faire
The Maker Faire is pretty cool. People showing off their talents at making interesting stuff. Bonus points for setting stuff on fire or creating lightning bolts from Tesla Coils. 🙂
Calliope Musicals
If the Pecan Street Festival isn’t fun enough for you, try throwing in the band called Calliope Musicals. They are starting to rise to the top of my favorite Local bands. Go see them if they arrive at a town near you.
