Here are some scenes from my walk around Marfa.

Hotel Paisano
The Hotel Paisano is a historic gem right in the heart of Marfa. If you find yourself in this city, you must take a few minutes to walk through and admire the hotel and the history that finds its home here.
St. Paul’s Marfa
This is a pretty church that can be found just north of the County Courthouse in Marfa. The church and the surrounding trees made for some colorful photos.
Marfa Water Tower
Presidio County Courthouse
The Presidio County Courthouse is one of the first things that catches your eye in Marfa. The sun shines brightly on the Courthouse dome which is perched on top of three floors of County offices. The interior is just as striking with its stairways of pecan. If you are a fan of architecture like me, then you must stroll through and around the building to admire the beauty.
Prada Marfa
This place is a great representation of how eclectic and artsy that Marfa can be. The thing is, Prada Marfa isn’t located in Marfa, but about 26 miles outside of Marfa and closest to a town called Valentine. This may explain the collection of love locks on the fence out back.
Tethered Aerostat Radar System
The Tethered Aerostat Radar System, or TARS, was an unexpected site while traveling just outside of Marfa, Texas. Pretty awesome.
Driving West
It was a totally cloudy day today. I think I saw the sun once on my drive west. So, of course, there wasn’t a real sunset. There were some colors to be captured from my car with some rather blurry shots from Interstate Highway 10, near Fort Stockton, to give you a small idea of what this part of the country looks like.
Cooper’s Bar-B-Que – Llano
Today, I am driving west, and I needed some food that would keep me fed for my trip. I stopped in at Cooper’s in Llano, Texas. From the pit, I selected the brisket and the turkey. The trick here is that they don’t weigh your meat until you are at the inside line. So they always over serve on the BBQ from the pit – no matter what you ask for. That is why you see so much food at the table. Needless to say, I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day.
