Kreuz Market

It has been a while since I have taken a road trip.  On my way to San Marcos this hot Texas afternoon, I detoured to the city of Lockhart to get some delicious barbecue at Kreuz Market.  It wasn’t too busy for a Friday, so I pretty much zipped through the line and ordered some brisket, bread, beans, cheese, and iced tea. I was so hungry for some tasty brisket that I neglected to take a photo until there was just one slice left.  Anyways, you get an idea of how good things are here and hopefully one day you will have the opportunity to visit.

Cooper’s Bar-B-Que – Llano

IMG_2384

Today, I am driving west, and I needed some food that would keep me fed for my trip.  I stopped in at Cooper’s in Llano, Texas.  From the pit, I selected the brisket and the turkey.  The trick here is that they don’t weigh your meat until you are at the inside line.  So they always over serve on the BBQ from the pit – no matter what you ask for.  That is why you see so much food at the table.  Needless to say, I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day.

Cooper’s Bar-B-Que – New Braunfels

IMG_5629

Today’s lunch was at Cooper’s Bar-B-Que in New Braunfels.  They had a weekend special consisting of a boneless pork chop and a baked potato.  I added some beans, pickles, and an iced tea to make it an awesome meal.  This is a great BBQ joint if you find yourself in the area.
