I drove down to Castle Hill in Austin after work to wander around a bit and to get some photos. This structure was once the Texas Military Institute until it closed in 1880. Now it is home to a Real Estate firm, and still looking good. The views from on top of the hill are outstanding!

Elizabet Ney Museum
Who builds a tiny castle in the middle of Hyde Park in Austin? Elizabet Ney moved here from Germany and built her studio in 1892. It is now the Elizabet Ney Museum and is a good place to visit if you like History, Sculpture, or Architecture.
Breakfast
The bee’s breakfast was much calmer than mine, but mine was tastier. I had the English Caramel tea at the Steeping Room (Lamar Location), along with some items from the brunch menu. If you come here, come early, because this place is busy and popular in the neighborhood. By the way Mr. Bee, I win!

Texas State Capitol – Exterior
This weekend is the Texas Book Festival at the Capitol. The book festival itself doesn’t make for exciting photo opportunities, but the Capitol grounds are always beautiful.
