Woodlands Park

I am relaxing near the Colorado River at a little known section of Woodlands Park.  The main part of the park has some nice facilities, but if you wander towards the lake and cross a small bridge, you will find a peaceful place on the river.  Picnic tables, cool breezes, shady trees, watercraft passing by, and a nice view are all to be discovered and enjoyed here.  If you need one of the best stair climbing trail workouts in Austin, then check out the River Place Nature Trail, just across the street.  I haven’t hiked that one in a while, so I need to return soon on a non-relaxing day to take on its challenges.

Shakespeare in the Park

Austin Shakespeare presented “The Taming of the Shrew” at the Zilker Hillside Theater.  The setting for the play was the city of Austin in the 1890’s and the surrounding countryside.  So, of course, everyone had to wear boots and hats.  It was a fun version of Shakespeare, and the play goes on through the month of May if you like outdoor theater, and find yourself in Austin.

Pflugerville Pfarmers Market

It was a nice day for photos at the Pflugerville Pfarmers Market.  The Green Red Barn in Pflugerville is home to the Market.  This event happens on Tuesdays from 3:00 to 7:00 pm during certain months of the year.  Check out the link if you find yourself in need of fresh vegetables or groovy photos.

If you are feeling a little bit sick, and you think you might be catching a cold, then it is a good idea to go see a kids movie (or to rent a movie, or to watch one on television) to lift your spirits.  When the movie is over, it is not necessarily a good idea to walk to the very front and take a photo while facing the projector.  If you attempt this, then please bring sunglasses.  ðŸ™‚

Art City Austin

IMG_4532

Another day, another fun festival in Austin.  Today it was Art City Austin where they blocked off a portion of Cesar Chavez Street for artist booths, food trucks, and live music.  The best artist in my opinion was international photographer Greg Davis.  The best food truck was anyone who sold cool, refreshing liquids on this hot day in the street.  The best and most energetic band was Holiday Mountain.  Check out the links if you want to learn more.
