I went hiking at Lost Maples today. It was great and the weather couldn’t have been better. Today’s mission was the West Trail . Being Saturday, it was busy today, but once out on the West Loop Trail, I only saw a few other hikers. I will share some pictures in my next post.

Tower of the Americas
My last photography stop before heading back to my hotel was the Tower of the Americas . It is truly beautiful at night. π
Oge House
Another awesome house located in the King William Historic District is the Oge House . This is how it looks at night.
Balcony
I caught this scene while walking around in the King William Historic District in San Antonio. Imagine having this beautiful balcony on a nice Autumn moonlit night. The things you could do… π
Octoberfest
So I stumbled into this place tonight. Beethoven Maennerchor was having a huge Octoberfest in San Antonio tonight. There was food, beer, music, crowds of people, and the Chicken Dance. What more do you need in life?
Buc-ee’s
Anytime I drive towards New Braunfels, I try to stop in at Buc-ee’s for a pit stop. They have it all. Today I got trail mix, beef jerky, BBQ Brisket sandwich, and Dr. Pepper Icee. The most healthy combination of snacks. π
Telecommunications II
So, there is a new Starbucks in town and it happens to sit beneath a tower. I am drinking a hot tea ( Zen ) and doing a little bit of research for a hiking trip. The weather is expected to cool off in Central Texas this weekend, so that makes for a good excuse to get outside. I am looking forward to it, and we will see if things go as planned.
Models
This afternoon, I am back at the Georgetown Public Library to explore some more and to kill some time before going for a long walk. I found a collection of models to photograph. According to the placard, “John M. Barcus, a former Georgetown resident who died in 1976 at age 85, built these models between 1969 and 1973. He donated them to the Georgetown Public Library in 1973 when he moved to San Benito to live with his daughter.” I hope you like them.

International Coffee Day
Yes, today is International Coffee Day and I am celebrating by drinking a beverage (not coffee) at Cianfrani Coffee Company in Georgetown, Texas. I already had too much coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts earlier today. It may not be too late for you, depending on where you find yourself today – “On 9/29, get a free medium Hot Dark Roast Coffee in honor of Americaβs favorite holiday.” Happy celebrating!
