Noel

Noel is just another word for Christmas.  The Mueller Tower had its lighting ceremony this evening – complete with space heaters, festivities, bands, kids, Christmas carols, kettle corn, food trucks, dogs, drinks, and lights.  What a nice event to help get ready for Christmas.

Tower Reflections

IMG_6615

The Biology Turtle Pond on campus was a nice place to get some photos of the Texas Tower on this cold, drizzly night.  The Tower was lit up in Burnt Orange in honor of the Texas Women’s Volleyball Team winning the Big 12 Championship.  Yay!  I took the opportunity to walk around campus with my camera.

Frank Reaugh – Landscapes of Texas and the American West

IMG_6599

Frank Reaugh led a very interesting life.  His passion was documenting the Southwest by using pastels and paint.  The exhibit at the Harry Ransom Center had several of his art pieces on display.  Just imagine getting the chance to travel with him and watch his plein air process of painting the countryside and animals in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
