Another wonderful surprise on top of Enchanted Rock was the enchanting moon. There were tons of people enjoying the views and taking their best photos of the moon this evening.

Enchanted Rock – Echo Canyon Trail
If you go hiking at Enchanted Rock, I recommend that you hike around to the backside and take the Echo Canyon Trail up to the summit. It is a beautiful path to the top, filled with chirping birds and other wildlife.

Enchanted Rock – Trail Map
Today’s mission was to hike some trails and climb up to the top of Enchanted Rock. My plan was to take the Loop Trail to the Scenic Overlook. From there, I would backtrack a little and hike over to the Echo Canyon Trail. Then I would meet up with the Summit Trail and roam around on top of the Rock until the sun went down. It was an awesome day for this hike!
Dazzle Coffee
There is a new coffee joint in Round Rock called Dazzle Coffee. Don’t go there expecting your normal coffee place where you go in and lounge about and glom on to the free internets. Dazzle is on to you people, so they have a drive-through or walk-up only kind of place. I got the “Frezian” with the “Zebra” flavor (white and dark chocolate), and I recommend this drink for helping you to be more productive in the New Year. Sorry if this wrecks any of your dieting plans.
Twin Peaks
It was a cold, rainy day in Round Rock, so today’s plan was to get some grub and watch some of the College Football Playoff games. Twin Peaks served up some great pulled pork nachos and some interesting football. Now, let’s start the discussion about opening up the playoffs to eight deserving teams instead of only four.
Kingdom II
Happy New Year!!! I went to Kingdom and Matthew Dear did a great job as tonight’s primary DJ. Check him out if you ever get the chance.
New Year’s Eve
Casino el Camino
Happy New Year Internet Friends! I am going to bring in the New Year in Downtown Austin and I needed some food to help me make it through the night. A hearty burger from Casino el Camino did the trick. This place on Sixth Street is both a bar and it has a small, but awesome, kitchen in the back. There is eclectic art on the walls, a patio for hanging out, the best jukebox, and an upstairs area for relaxing and chatting. I ordered the Chicago Burger – bacon, romaine lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. Totally yummy! Secret Tip – When you order your food, don’t give them your real name, because when it is ready, they will call you over the loudspeaker in a fun way. It’s best to make them call out something funky to entertain the whole bar. 🙂
