Would you do this? Clara Bensen from Austin met someone on OKCupid (a story in itself as this dude lived in a dumpster for a year) and then they decided to take a three week summer trip to Europe with the clothes on their back and a few necessities stuffed in pockets and a purse. On the flight out, a flight attendant asked a great question – “What will you wear when you’re washing your clothes?” Anyway, she survived and wrote a book about her adventures. I think I know what I am reading next when I finish the one I am working on now. If I get a chance to catch them in Austin, I will let you know what happens. For now, I am thinking about planning a trip somewhere.

Borgeous & Morgan Page & DELORA
EDM concerts are so much fun! My strategy is to jam up as close to the stage as possible and enjoy the music and the energy. If you have the opportunity to see Borgeous or Morgan Page or DELORA while they tour North America, you should jump at it. These performers are wonderful, and the music is great. Here are some photos to give you an idea of what happened at Emo’s in Austin last night.
Shake Shack
I like to call this one “Full Moon over Shake Shack”. Obviously, this location is not much of a shack. If you go here I highly recommend the Lockhart Link Burger – “Cheeseburger topped with griddled Kreuz Market jalapeño cheese sausage link, ShackSauce, pickles.” That was what’s for dinner tonight.
Snow Monster II
Hey y’all, on this chilly day I am at Snow Monster upping my food photography game. This is a small Coffee Snow Ice with Oreo Bits on top. My personal favorite. Yummy!
Zilker Brewing Company
Zilker Brewing Company has a Tap Room on East Sixth Street in downtown Austin. I stopped in for a taste before boarding my train to get home since they are located within a short walk of the Plaza Saltillo train station. My selection was the Honey Saison – a Belgian style ale. I will have to stop by again when I have more time to relax and try some more of their beers.
Train Encounters
Chasing Shades
Those days when you get out of work just in time to hurry off and try to catch the sunset and take a quick trail walk in the dark. And while you are photographing shades of purple, why not throw in a Purple Rita from Baby Acapulco?
Strength
The inspirational word of the day is “Strength”. Yes, I am guilty of hitting up the Art*o*mat again. The Little Inspirations series is a creation of Nicole Arnold. I was looking for an earth shattering inspiration, but will make do with this simple one. This one is appropriate for me since I sat through some more crazy dental procedures today. I will need some strength for the next few days as the pain slowly subsides.
Pollen Grain
Before the sun began to set and the cold temperatures hit, I took a walk through Mueller. This sculpture called “Pollen Grain” by Chris Levack has always been one of my favorites. You can walk beneath it on the trail if you select the right path.
Leaves and Steeple
I attended an event today at the Genesis Presbyterian Church, and there was an awesome, colorful tree out in the front yard just beneath the steeple.
