Red Poppy Festival

Today’s fun was had at the Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown.  The best performances were Kimberly Dunn and Tracy Lawrence.  Chet Garner from The Daytripper also made an appearance to pass out awards for the cooking contest.  The Georgetown square was popping at the seams with all the people out to enjoy the evening.

Swim at Your Own Risk

IMG_1192-1

I took a visit to Bull Creek this evening after work to see how the recent rains have contributed to the water flow.  It was pumping.  A hiker’s Labrador Retriever attempted to bound across the rocks, and accidentally got swept into and over the main falls.  There was a minor rescue effort to get him back on dry land, but he shook off the water and was back in high spirits before long.  The lady bug hung onto her flower and watched the whole event in anticipation.

Rosa’s Cafe & Tortilla Factory

IMG_1184

Rosa’s Cafe & Tortilla Factory is defined by Google Maps as a “Fast-food chain featuring classic Mexican dishes & housemade tortillas in festive surroundings.”  I think I agree with that summary.  I was more attracted by the festive surroundings than I was by the tacos I ordered, however I will give this restaurant another chance with the hopes that I visited on an off night.

Wall of Death II

IMG_1128

A motorcycle show that always amazes.  The Wall of Death is complete with motorcycle riders riding to the top of the wall and grabbing dollars from customer’s outstretched hands.  The wooden facility is shaking all through the act with fans shouting on their motorcycle heroes as they defy gravity and race along the wall.
