Tonight’s first ever concert at the Skyline Theater at the Long Center was Boston. Styx kicked it off. If you have any questions about seeing Boston in concert, I can recommend them. They sounded so good tonight. Here are several photos from the concert – from start to finish, day to night.

ROT Rally
It is that time of year again. Motorcycles are everywhere in Austin for the Republic of Texas Biker Rally. My favorite event is the motorcycle parade that travels from the Rally site in North Austin to Congress Avenue Downtown. It is pretty special to cheer for the bikers as they arrive on Congress. This year I chose a spot in front of the Capitol Building to view the festivities.
Willie
An Austin artist by the name of Wiley Ross painted this mural of Willie Nelson. It is located close to the Sixth Street entertainment district at Seventh Street and Neches Street. It is pretty awesome sight for Willie fans like me.
Family Time
My, how quickly the vulture babies grow up into super large birds. The entire family of four was hanging out on one of the back facilities walls at work today – I could only capture three in the frame of the photos from my vantage point behind the glass at the end of the hallway. Pretty soon the young vultures will be off to scavenge the Central Texas roads for food and to serve their unique purpose in the local ecosystem. They will probably find plenty of squirrels, armadillos, and other unfortunate creatures who failed to cross the road safely. I find it odd that they choose to return to this one secluded spot every year. Until next time, stay safe out there in the world.

Floodgates
I took a walk this afternoon to examine the condition of the Colorado River at the floodgates of Tom Miller Dam. I started at the dam, and then went down for a loop around the trail at Red Bud Isle. The Isle was partially flooded, but some of the trail remained accessible. After taking some photos of the flooded state of the river, I returned back up the hill to end up at the dock across from the Hula Hut restaurant. It turned out to be a nice walk, and a great evening.
