There was this most beautiful sunrise this morning! I wish I could have viewed it from a mountaintop or beach, but you take the best you can get, eh? The third photo is my favorite with the colors reflecting off the pond.

la Madeleine
I am slowly recuperating. I went out into the world today for the first time since Sunday. Just a short trip to la Madeleine for some mushroom soup, salad, and tea. I sat by the fire for a while and read my book. It was a quiet and peaceful spot for reading.

When you are at home, sick, in bed, Kleenex and Netflix are your friends. Between long naps, I have been watching parts of movies and trying to finish Season 7 of Skins. This show is not for all (be warned), but for some reason I like some of the characters and their story lines. Don’t hate me if you find the material offensive – I tried to warn you…

Brushy Creek Trail
I walked a portion of a new hike and bike path today. It is called Brushy Creek Trail and it began for me where it intersects A. W. Grimes Blvd. The path is wide and paved as you head East from the Rabb House or Play for All Abilities Park, and there are some shady trees along the way.

Long Drive
I just drove a little over 435 miles! There were a few stops along the way, including the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens in the River Oaks area of Houston.
