Last weekend was spent at the Something Wicked EDM Festival in Houston. Everyone was dressed up for Halloween and out to have a good time. These photos will give you an idea of how things looked on Saturday.

Begin and End at Paramount Theater
Sundays are the best days to go walking in Downtown Austin. I started at the Paramount Theater on Congress Avenue, took a loop around the Town Lake hike and bike trail, and then ended up back at the Paramount. A perfect day for a walk.
Pop-up Donut Shop
Austin has the craziest events. Google decided to throw up a donut shop on Rainey Street and some winners got Google Home Mini devices to take home. I got a couple of pink donuts courtesy of Voodoo Doughnut. Yummy!
Love to Death
I stopped in at the Mexic-Arte Museum this afternoon while walking about in downtown Austin. They had a Day of the Dead display called “Love to Death” and the theme was Community Altars. There were so many colorful celebrations of life and death to behold.

Random Neighborhood Walk
After work today, I struck out for a walk in a random neighborhood nearby my restaurant of choice for dinner. There were a few beautiful sights to behold.
Rivery Park Walk
The temperature hit just above 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Central Texas today, so I opted for a late evening walk with hopes of less heat on the path. I started off from Rivery Park in Georgetown, which you can see from the trail map photo is located in the middle of the Georgetown trail system. It turned out to be a nice walk along the paved trail, with gentle slopes to climb up and down, and some nice views of the San Gabriel River.
Loving Sunset Walks
It is that time of year in Austin where the evenings start getting cooler and it makes it nice to get out and walk. This evening, I started at Ninth and Congress and headed for the loop around Town Lake. There were a few art installations and groovy flowers along the way. On my return to Congress Avenue, there was a flock of tourists anxiously awaiting the bats to begin flying out from under the bridge. And of course, the sunset colors on the city were most beautiful.
Chalk Walk
It is the awesome time of year when they hold the Round Rock Chalk Walk. The street art created here is so beautiful.
Blade Runner 2049
For fans of the original Blade Runner, they have done a great job of recreating this film series. The sci-fi world on screen is just magestic. The flying cars are flawless. Ryan Gosling is the perfect choice for the lead role, and Harrison Ford holds his own. My favorite character is Joi, a holographic companion, played by Ana de Armas. They could have based the movie on her and it would have been wonderful. Be warned that the running time for this movie is long – I was in the theater for 3 hours with previews and credits – and if you are like me, you may not find yourself a fan of the storyline. However, this is a must see for the local movie house or IMAX if you have one nearby.
