Good news. The documentary called “Unbranded” is available to watch on Netflix for now. As per a description on their website, “Four young Cowboys hatch an outrageous plot to adopt, train, and ride a string of wild mustangs 3,000 miles from Mexico to Canada through the wildest terrain of the American West.” This is one of my favorite documentary movies I saw this year, so see it while you can if you have a Netflix account. This is a good activity if you find yourself with some downtime over the Holidays, and I am totally enjoying the opportunity to view it again!

Community Witbier
It is a nice cool evening in Austin tonight. I am relaxing on the patio of Whole Foods in the Domain, staying warm by the fire, and enjoying a pint of the Community Witbier. A very cool evening indeed.
Chuy’s
Lucky for me, Chuy’s stays open late and they are also big fans of Elvis. Tonight’s dinner was the Macho Burrito special, “A flour tortilla stuffed with roasted pork, green chiles, jack cheese & guacamole, smothered with Hatch Green Chile Tomatillo Sauce”. Yummy.
Elfvis II
Yes, I had to return to this most awesome Christmas display again this year. There was Elfvis, the Grinch (doing the Nae Nae), the Kringles, Olaf (leading a “Let it Go” sing-along), a house full of synchronized lights, and the Snow Zone that blasted out fake snow for all the kids. If you are in the Austin area, go check it out. If not, then you can experience the YouTube channel as the next best thing to being there.
Voodoo Doughnut IV
Just another night (I really should break this habit) at Voodoo Doughnut on Sixth Street. It’s just me, the American Flag, my Memphis Mafia doughnut, and the guy in the Ironman suit enjoying his doughnut. If you are curious, my doughnut consists of “Fried dough with banana chunks and cinnamon covered in a glaze with chocolate frosting, peanut butter, peanuts and chocolate chips on top!” It is not to be trifled with.
Peligrosa
Thanks to the Red Bull Music Academy for hosting several DJs and bands tonight. The event was fun, and Empire Control Room is a venue that reminds me of old Austin. No frills, outdoor stages, and a super relaxed atmosphere that just allows the party to flow as it needs to.
Wild, Wild West
My second stop in search of Christmas cheer tonight was at the Four Seasons Hotel, where they have a gingerbread village on display. It has the theme of a western town, everything is edible, and it raises money for a local charity. The gingerbread man above is a little scruffy because he has just emerged from the town Saloon.
The Driskill Christmas Tree II
I was downtown for an event this evening, and I decided to wander off for a bit in search of Christmas cheer. The Christmas tree at the Driskill Hotel was beautiful as always.

Austin Aquarium II
The Austin Aquarium is always a fun place to visit. My favorites today were the Clownfish and the Rainbow Lorikeets. I could watch the Clownfish play around the Sea Anemone for hours as they swim in and out of the tentacles. The Lorikeets are also very playful, but in a much different way. They will fly over to greet you, perch on your hand for a while, and pose for a photo or two. When it becomes feeding time, they gather around the bowl and all partake of dinner in a mostly orderly fashion. These creatures and the others at the Aquarium make for a great day.
