Dunkirk
I was lucky enough to see this one at the IMAX. The kind of movie that IMAX theaters were made for. I really enjoyed the fighter scenes and the aerial dogfights. And the soundtrack was excellent throughout.

Atomic Blonde
I’m not sure who or what was most beautiful in this film – Charlize Theron, Sofia Boutella, Berlin, the rocking fight scenes, or the well played soundtrack. Everything was wonderful, and I recommend that you get to the theater for this one.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
I have a suggestion if you really want to see this movie. Bring along some of your favorite music and a good pair of noise cancelling headphones. When the movie starts, crank up your personal jam session. That way you can enjoy the visuals on screen without having to suffer through the mind numbing plot and associated dialogue.
Rainbow
We got a little bit of rain today in San Marcos, and it left behind some cool temperatures and a most beautiful rainbow.
Borgeous – The Marc in San Marcos
Another great Borgeous show! This time at The Marc on the Square in San Marcos. As long as Borgeous visits us in Central Texas, I will turn up for his music. 🙂
Kreuz Market
It has been a while since I have taken a road trip. On my way to San Marcos this hot Texas afternoon, I detoured to the city of Lockhart to get some delicious barbecue at Kreuz Market. It wasn’t too busy for a Friday, so I pretty much zipped through the line and ordered some brisket, bread, beans, cheese, and iced tea. I was so hungry for some tasty brisket that I neglected to take a photo until there was just one slice left. Anyways, you get an idea of how good things are here and hopefully one day you will have the opportunity to visit.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
For me, this has been the summer of taking it easy – evenings at the gym, days at the water park, and summertime movies at the theater. Spider-Man fits perfectly into this schedule. Marvel has become the king of popcorn adventures, and this flick adds to the most excellent list. We get to enjoy (and freak out) over high school with Peter Parker. At times it seems like high school is far more terrifying than fighting criminals and super villains. Go see this one if you get the chance.

Baby Driver
Grab your favorite mix tape and drive real fast to the movie theater for this one. It is most awesome and at times is a bit like a version of Grand Theft Auto on screen.

Wonder Woman
Super Hero origin movies usually come in three parts. Part One – our Hero is in a world of their own and just beginning to learn that they have some unusual powers. Part Two – an urgent mission arrives and our Hero must go and save the world while still learning and growing in their powers. Part Three – an overdrawn battle scene must take place between our Hero and some bulked up nemesis. Unfortunately, Wonder Woman follows this three part storyline. Parts one and two are wonderful with great acting from Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. However, part three makes your face hurt and you start to realize that the theater seats are not as comfy as you thought they were. Oh well, 2/3rds of a movie being great are better than nothing.
