If you are a fan of Google Maps, you can help out the world and get some benefits like upgrading your Google Drive storage. I have used and contributed a bit to Yelp, Gowalla, and Foursquare in the past, but fell out of like with them all. I’m usually out and about with a camera of some sort, so why not contribute a photo or a review every now and then? These screenshots are from tonight’s review of Shake Shack in the Domain – my first burger here. If you want to learn more about Google Local Guides, check out their website. Adelbert’s Brewery II

It is a rainy Saturday in Austin, so I took it easy today. I watched some football, had lunch with a friend, stopped by Adelbert’s Brewery, and chilled at Starbucks with my iPad. What you see in the first photo is a semi-wet picnic table outside the Brewery with a “Naked Nun” – their awesome Wit Beer which was chemically enhanced by a few stray rain drops.

Attending a classical guitar concert this evening, and stopped along the way at the top of the hill to take some photos of Austin on this cloudy day. Everything is so green after the weekend rains.

Día de los Muertos

There was a Día de los Muertos Celebration on this rainy day in Austin at the Mexican American Cultural Center. They had memorials, performances, art, crafts, food, and drink. It was a little bit washed out by the weather, but still fun for all.

There is some spooky hard rain in Austin today. For now, I am keeping dry at Maggie Maes and watching some football on Sixth Street. They also have some of their Halloween decorations up to enjoy.

Ozomatli

On this warm, humid, rainy night, the F1 race party came to town. The highlight of the party was the band called Ozomatli. They are known as a fun jam band that hops off the stage with their horns and their drums, and joins the crowd near the end of their show. That is when the party really gets started.

Voodoo Doughnut

If you find yourself smack dab in the middle of Sixth Street in Austin and your sweet tooth is calling out for satisfaction, check out Voodoo Doughnut. They will satisfy your craving for sugary goodness. My friends and I dropped in here after a downtown meeting today and it was yummy. I had the “Bacon Maple Bar Doughnut” with maple frosting and bacon on top. Killer!
