I travelled to New Braunfels today for some fun. My first stop was the New Braunfels Art League for an art contest.
The Williamson Museum
It was First Friday at The Williamson Museum in Georgetown, so I thought I would drop in and have a look. It is located in an old bank building on the Square. For some reason, I fell in like with the historic safes on display. They were cool.
First Thursday Art Reception
The Round Rock ArtSpace had their First Thursday Art Reception this evening, and it featured DÃa de los Muertos art and artists. My favorite painting was called “Bella Catrina” by Jennifer Estes. Also, if you find yourself near Round Rock this Saturday, there will be a celebration downtown in the evening.
Bridge of Spies
This movie may not appeal to the younger crowd, but it is probably one of my favorite spy movies. Tom Hanks is awesome throughout, and it was nice to see Alan Alda on film again for a short bit.

Drugs…
My drugs for my tooth infection are starting to kick in. The swelling is going down and the pain is relatively manageable. One side effect is that the pills upset my stomach. The bonus is that I will lose some weight for not eating so much. After spending most of the day in bed, I ventured down the street to watch the second half of the football game. We’ll see how this goes…
Bedridden II
Not much to report regarding the tooth, but tomorrow is another day. The news in Austin today is the terrible flooding in South Central Texas. The Instagram feed above shows the power of the floods at Barton Springs.
Bedridden
This broken tooth has been one of the most painful events of my life. I have been mostly sleeping all day, because that seems the best way to cope. In between long naps, my iPad has kept me company. Take some pills, watch Netflix, cruise social media sites and play a few simple iPad games like Star Wars Commander. That is my life today.
Rising Moon
If you wait for the right moment, the sky will turn to a most beautiful violet color, and the moon will deliberately rise above the hilltop.
Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve
After all the recent rains, I just knew the waterfall would be back in action. 🙂
